+ thicker slate if comparing a 3-piece Diamond, equal slate thickness compared to 1-piece Diamond = ball spit out, or is it worse on Diamond? * it is important to realize the cost is very close however, see below. Very slight + cost (as a result of direct distribution) + doesn't have the metal elevated pocket corners black marks on balls - can't believe they haven't fixed this yet on the Pro-Am? The impregnated dye leeches. you could move to a professional, which looks a tad better, but then you lose the best things about Diamond (Pro-Am Build, wedge, 1-piece slate, etc).At that point, GC V starts to look much more interesting.

looks terrible - you pay a price for Dymondwood.the pocket black on the side.Oh well.I went with black because I think it hides the ugliness better than Rosewood. + resale is great (among pool geeks).aesthetics may hurt the table for home re-sale to non-expert players.where furniture quality tables are likely preferred + best bumpers (artemis interconteninental K55 - which are actually billiard cushions, rather than the typical K66) + slate under the rails is a great construction technique + single piece slate w/wedge is the best leveling system + with the rail angle change, perhaps it equals or bests the play of the Gold Crown V.because the Gold Crown V has so much variation in manufacturing. + best built table on the planet.perhaps there is stuff in Europe? She was really rattling the balls in the corner pocket, but honestly didn't take her too long to adjust. One of my wife's female friends who is a past state champion, has started to come over to practice, as she doesn't get much practice on a Diamond table except for tournaments, and had a really tough time against my wife and I for awhile. Pockets are bigger at 4 3/4, but you actually have to be more accurate with your shot. I could be wrong but I feel this increased angle actually helps to make the balls rattle in the corner pocket compared to what you would get with the standard 4 1/2" pockets and angles. It's only a quarter inch, and what is never mentioned is that to get that quarter inch, I think they just reangle the corner facings to get the corner opening for the league cut, as my pocket angles are 2 1/2 deg different than what everyone quotes for Diamond pocket angles. To be honest, not really sure that it made it that much easier to play.

I got the league cut on my new Professional last year, as my wife and I are not top level players anyway, and we have a lot of company over to play, that are just casual players.
